![]() ![]() Five hundred dollar editing job and the text is still full of errors. Enter claimed that he paid an editor five hundred dollars to edit the book. There's even one point near the end where the character "Molly" suddenly gets changed into "May." But once again, this supposedly DID have an editor. Again, that's understandable, since the text is chock-full of grammatical errors. ![]() People have also said that this book seems to have had no editor. Given that Enter has said on DeviantArt that reading too much gets in the way of being a good writer (what?), I don't think he reads a lot of books, and boy does it show here. The prose itself also lacks flow - most of the time it just feels like a list of what's happening with no emotion behind it. A couple of more minor characters are described as having missing front teeth or other things like that, but other than that the book doesn't tell us what anyone looks like. In fact, from what I recall, only two other major characters get any physical description: the mayor Talula has long blonde hair and Sally's friend April dyes her hair blue. We learn that Sally has brown hair and she wears it in a ponytail, but that's all the physical description she gets and none of her other family members get any physical description at all. Enter doesn't even describe what most of the characters look like. However, the story went from first draft to final draft in the course of a few months, and while you can argue among yourselves whether or not a good book can be written in that short a time, with this particular book it's obvious that it got sent to the press too early, since the prose is very underpolished. Sadly, this actually ISN'T the first draft - Enter posted the first draft on his DeviantArt page when he was first writing it. This isn't about his reviews - this is about his book, which is terrible.Ī lot of people have said that this feels like a first draft and I don't blame them for thinking that, seeing as how the book is written in such a bland, choppy fashion with scenes that dart from one place to another with no transitions. Second, I don't care if you like Enter's YouTube reviews. First of all, yes, I read the whole thing. ![]()
